Our Commitment to Privacy

At Rahona Valley, we value your privacy and actively protect your personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). These principles outlined in our privacy policy guide how we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal data.

We collect only the information we need to manage our business. This includes handling customer enquiries, bookings, wine club memberships, event registrations, and marketing communications. We secure your data and only share it when required by law or when you give your consent.

You control your personal information. You can request access, make corrections, or raise concerns if you believe we’ve mishandled your data. To get in touch, email [email protected].

Comments

When you post a comment, we collect the data you enter, plus your IP address and browser information. This helps us detect and block spam.

If you use Gravatar, we send an anonymised version of your email to check for an associated profile image. View Gravatar’s privacy policy. After approval, your profile image appears next to your comment.

Media

Before uploading images, remove any embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other users may download those images and extract that data.

Cookies

When you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. This makes future comments easier. These cookies stay for one year.

Visiting our login page triggers a temporary cookie to test if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and disappears after you close the browser.

When you log in, we store cookies for your login session and display preferences. Login cookies remain for two days. Display setting cookies last a year. Choosing “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes all login cookies.

Editing or publishing a post adds a cookie with the post ID. It holds no personal data and expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Some pages may include content from other websites—like videos, images, or articles. These sites may track your activity just as if you visited them directly. They may collect data, use cookies, and monitor interactions, especially if you’re logged into their platform.

Data Sharing

If you reset your password, we include your IP address in the reset email.

Data Retention

We keep comments and their metadata so we can recognise and approve follow-ups automatically.

If you create an account, we store the information you provide. You can view, edit, or delete your data (except your username). Site administrators also have access to this information.

Your Rights

You may request a copy of your personal data or ask us to delete it. We’ll remove everything unless legal or security reasons require us to keep it.

Where Your Data Goes

Our spam detection system checks visitor comments before publishing.
